@jon-nyc said in It's Morning in America: https://x.com/KAErdmann/status/1836468686565314711 Great! Let’s take a deeper dive. We know that much of the GDP growth recently has been driven by new jobs, right? We also know that the vast majority of new jobs over the past three years have gone to foreign born workers… Oh, I know WaPo and Politifact have both fact checked that claim by pretending the workers returning to their pre-existing jobs post-COVID are new jobs, but we can all be honest here. So the real improvement for most Americans by the great economic conditions has only been in their retirement accounts thanks to S&P gains. Except, those gains have been mitigated for many/most(?) as they have been pulling money from those accounts in alarming amounts to pay bills. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/why-more-americans-are-making-hardship-withdrawals-from-retirement-accounts So you can claim it’s a good morning, but most Americans aren’t feeling it. And now, as it turns out, a significant amount of the foreign born labor market has been little better than chattel slavery or indentured servitude. https://jewishjournal.com/commentary/opinion/375011/feds-and-state-ag-investigate-an-alleged-human-trafficking-empire-run-in-springfield-ohio/ Now this is only Springfield, but the story is the same in Charleroi, and countless other small communities. A real hard look is being taken at countless migrant staffing agencies in the US, and so far it’s looking bad. Very bad. It was a good morning in the 1840s, too, back when Cotton was King.

He's changed the claim to infra-red lasers. God, I hope they're not space lasers.

The sheriff allegedly walked into the judge's outer office, told court employees and others gathered there he needed to speak to Mullins alone. He and Mullins then entered the judge's inner office, closed the door and those outside heard gunshots, according to The Mountain Eagle. I'll reserve judgment until we get more information, but the only thing I can think of that would anger this sheriff so much during that very short conversation, is if the judge said something racist. If he did, then, I have to say - maybe he got what was coming to him. Racism is wrong.

@Jolly said in Travel Friendly: Makes sense to me... NOt knowing football but liking to comment, I will add my two cents. 5555 Makes sense to me also. Travel is tiring. Dont teams change cities once in a while also when they get a new owner or something? Would seem to be best to keep those in the same league close to each other.

A teacher friend told me that in the US, up to Grade 8, kids are pretty much guaranteed to pass their grade. After that, it becomes a bit more tough. She called it "social promotion"

@Jolly said in Do not grab your crotch on the football field.: @LuFins-Dad said in Do not grab your crotch on the football field.: Wait one damn minute! You guys have Adam Prentice as your fullback? I think he’s related! Well, he's certainly got a hard head... Yeah, I’ve been working on the family tree. I think he’s from the California Prentice’s descended from Archibald, son of John the Laird of Stane. My line is from David, Archibald’s younger brother. John was made a General for saving William Lockhart (One of Cromwell’s men) at the Battle of Bothwell Bridge. John was among the last to surrender to Charles II, so hard heads run in the line.

She does believe in post-birth abortion: One of the things that does show intelligence...Trump does have wit and a spontaneous sense of humor. You seem to feel that it is necessary to stress that Trump shows intelligence, virtually every chance you get. Just counter-weighting the lies. The ability to be witty and funny is a well-known indicator of intelligence.

The tail meat is best, but there is good meat on the legs and on the jaws. Alligator is kinda like shark, as it doesn't have a lot of taste and needs to be helped with marinades and seasoning. I've never hunted them very much and I'd probably botch a skinning job. My wife has caught more gators than I have...Her biggest was 13 ft, but he would have been almost 14, if he'd had all of his tail.
